Edelweiss-backed EAAA opens ₹1,200 crore IPO after Norway's wealth fund joins anchor book
The alternative investment manager raised about ₹360 crore from anchor investors at the top of its price band. The issue is entirely a sale by its promoter, so the company gets none of the money.

Key points
- EAAA India Alternatives raised about ₹360 crore from anchor investors at ₹1,665 a share.
- Norway's Government Pension Fund Global and ten mutual funds were among the anchors.
- The ₹1,200 crore issue is open from 26 to 28 October, with listing planned for 2 November.
EAAA India Alternatives, the alternative investment arm of the Edelweiss group, opens its ₹1,200 crore initial public offering on Monday after drawing a long list of global and Indian institutions to its anchor book.
The company raised about ₹360 crore from anchor investors, allotting 21,62,161 shares at ₹1,665 each, the top of its price band of ₹1,585 to ₹1,665. Norway’s Government Pension Fund Global, managed by Norges Bank Investment Management, and Schroders were among the foreign names, alongside Goldman Sachs, BNP Paribas Financial Markets and Hornbill Capital Advisors.
Ten mutual funds took 61% of the anchor allocation, including all five of the country’s largest fund houses: HDFC, ICICI Prudential, SBI, Nippon India and Kotak Mahindra. Bandhan, HSBC, 360 ONE, Abakkus and Trust mutual funds also took part, as did the Indian asset managers Carnelian, Unifi and Nuvama.
A sale by the promoter
The issue is entirely an offer for sale. Edelweiss Securities and Investments, the promoter, is selling 72.07 lakh shares, and the company will receive none of the proceeds. That makes it a partial exit for the parent rather than a capital raise for the business.
Retail investors can bid for a minimum of nine shares, or ₹14,985 at the upper end of the band. Bidding closes on Wednesday, 28 October. Allotment is expected on Thursday, and the shares are tentatively due to list on BSE and NSE on Monday, 2 November.
Axis Capital, Jefferies India, Motilal Oswal Investment Advisors and Nuvama Wealth Management are managing the issue.
What EAAA does
EAAA describes itself as an alternative investment management platform focused on India’s real assets and private credit markets. Its real assets business invests in infrastructure, commercial real estate, energy transition and perpetual capital through equity, quasi-equity and debt. Its private credit side covers performing credit, special situations, real estate credit and investment-grade credit, and it also runs portfolio management services for co-investment.
Its clients are institutions, wealthy individuals and family offices. The company managed assets of ₹95,344.8 crore as of June 2026.
A crowded week for new issues
EAAA is the largest of five main-board issues opening this week, which together seek about ₹2,636 crore. SFC Environmental Technologies and BLS Polymers open on Tuesday, MK Sons Fine Jewels on Wednesday and Bombay Coated and Special Steels on Thursday.
The timing is testing. The market has fallen for four sessions, the main midcap and smallcap indices lost about 5.6% and 7.3% last week, and foreign investors have sold a net ₹53,337 crore of Indian shares in October. Yet the appetite for large new issues has held up: Jio Platforms’ ₹30,213 crore offer drew bids for 22.19 times the shares on offer, and it finalises allotment on the same day EAAA opens.
