Netflix, Tesla and Meta face investors after the Nasdaq's worst week since June
The three report quarterly results on Tuesday and Wednesday, the first big US technology names to do so since the AI sell-off. Indian investors will see the numbers before their own markets open.

Key points
- Netflix reports on Tuesday, 20 October, after the US market closes.
- Tesla and Meta Platforms both report on Wednesday, 21 October.
- The Nasdaq is still up about 12.5% for 2026 despite last week's 4.5% fall.
Three of the biggest names in US technology report results this week, and after the Nasdaq’s worst week since June, investors will be looking to them for reasons to buy back in.
Netflix goes first, on Tuesday, 20 October, shortly after the market closes at about 4 pm New York time, or 1:30 am IST on Wednesday. Tesla and Meta Platforms follow on Wednesday after the close. Meta’s conference call is at 4:30 pm New York time and Tesla’s webcast at 5:30 pm, which is 2 am and 3 am IST on Thursday.
A nervous backdrop
The results come after a week in which the Nasdaq Composite fell about 4.5%, dragged down by an eight-day slide in chip stocks and worries about how much debt is being used to fund AI data centres. Even so, the index is still up about 12.5% for the year, so expectations remain high.
Tesla has already said it delivered 486,532 vehicles in the July-September quarter. Its shares fell 2.1% on Friday after an early rise on its Roadster event faded.
“Earnings are important, but the market is concerned that 2026 will mark the peak for earnings growth,” said Michael O’Rourke, chief market strategist at Jones Trading.
The season has started unevenly. Aluminium maker Alcoa rose 2.6% on Friday after better-than-expected quarterly profit, and Truist Financial gained after beating income forecasts.
For Indian markets, the timing means the US numbers will arrive overnight, before trading opens in Mumbai. A strong set of results could steady technology sentiment ahead of Infosys’s report on Friday; a weak one would add to last week’s pressure.
