Key points

  1. Leonardo Balerdi scored twice for Roma, the second a late header, in a 3-3 draw in Naples.
  2. Borussia Dortmund beat Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 to go three points clear of Bayern Munich.
  3. Julián Álvarez scored his first goal in eight months as Atlético Madrid beat Deportivo La Coruña 1-0.

Roma came from behind late on to draw 3-3 at Napoli in Serie A on Saturday night, with the defender Leonardo Balerdi heading in his second goal of the match after Scott McTominay looked to have won it for the home side.

McTominay, who also scored with a header, put Napoli ahead in the 83rd minute, but Balerdi equalised soon afterwards. Frank Anguissa had scored for Napoli with an overhead kick, and Matías Soulé was Roma’s other scorer. Napoli’s coach Massimiliano Allegri was sent off for dissent.

The point keeps Roma within a point of the defending champions Inter Milan, who host Fiorentina on Sunday. Lazio, who beat Parma 2-1, are top. Como beat Sassuolo 2-0 with two goals from Tasos Douvikas, and Bologna beat Cagliari by the same score.

Dortmund’s late winner

In the Bundesliga, Maximilian Beier scored in the 80th minute, from Jobe Bellingham’s pass, as Borussia Dortmund beat Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0. The win puts them three points clear of Bayern Munich, who play at Freiburg on Sunday, before Dortmund travel to Bayern next weekend.

Niclas Füllkrug scored two first-half penalties as Werder Bremen beat Mainz 3-2, Leipzig won 4-0 against Elversberg, and Rayan Philippe, on loan from Hamburg, scored against his parent club to give Paderborn a 1-0 win.

Álvarez ends his wait

In Spain, Julián Álvarez scored his first goal in eight months to give Atlético Madrid a 1-0 win over Deportivo La Coruña. It lifts them to two points behind Barcelona, who host Real Madrid in the Clásico at Camp Nou on Sunday evening.
