The 27-year-old from Delhi, who represents Jaypee Greens Golf and Spa Resort in Greater Noida, ended the year with ₹1,02,47,684 on the DP World PGTI Order of Merit. He was presented with the award by PGTI president Kapil Dev at Delhi Golf Club after Sunday’s final round of the DP World India Championship, where he finished tied 55th at one under 287 with his mother, father and sister watching.
Talwar’s season was built on consistency. He won the Indorama Ventures Open, tied for second at the PGTI Open, which is co-sanctioned with the HotelPlanner Tour, and added six other top-10 finishes.
“It has been a consistent year, and I have grown a lot as a golfer,” Talwar said. “This is not the final destination; you need to keep growing.”
This is his fourth season on the PGTI and his second playing in Europe, and he said he enjoys the challenge there. “Tougher conditions tend to keep me more present,” he said. Of the India Championship set-up at Delhi Golf Club, he said: “It is difficult even without the rough, but the setup this week made it four stressful days.”
Khalin Joshi, who won four PGTI titles this year, was second on the money list with ₹77,32,225. “It is encouraging to see someone like Khalin win four times, along with other multiple winners,” Talwar said.
Kartik Singh, a 16-year-old rookie from Gurugram, won the Emerging Player of the Year award after earning ₹33,00,660, the most by any first-year player. He finished 20th on the Order of Merit with two top-10s.
