Pointless Mohun Bagan visit Sporting Club Delhi without suspended Deepak Tangri
Both sides lost late in their ISL openers. Bagan, who skipped their pre-match press conference, face Tomasz Tchórz's Delhi at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Friday.

Key points
- Sporting Club Delhi lost their opener 3-2 to Bengaluru FC to an 89th-minute header.
- Mohun Bagan were beaten 1-0 by NorthEast United in stoppage time.
- Bagan midfielder Deepak Tangri is suspended for the trip to Delhi.
Mohun Bagan Super Giant travel to Delhi for Friday’s Indian Super League match against Sporting Club Delhi still looking for their first point of the season, and without the suspended midfielder Deepak Tangri.
Both teams lost late on the opening weekend, and the meeting at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium gives one of them the chance to put that right.
Delhi, coached by Tomasz Tchórz, gave Bengaluru FC a real fight in the season opener at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium. They led 2-1 at half-time before losing 3-2 to an 89th-minute header from Menno Koch, the Bengaluru defender who had earlier scored an own goal. Friday’s game is their first at home.
Bagan’s defeat was more painful. Panagiotis Dilmperis’s side missed their chances in Guwahati, and Jithin M.S. struck from close range in stoppage time to give NorthEast United a 1-0 win. Dilmperis said afterwards that his team “deserved to win”, and he has spoken of a club culture that “demands wins”.
The Kolkata club did not hold a pre-match press conference before the trip to the capital.
Bagan arrive with last season’s final day still fresh. They won that match 2-1 with late goals in injury time, but East Bengal took the title on goal difference.
The ISL is back this season in its full home-and-away format, and a defeat for either side here would leave them two games without a point.
