Recovery in Tibet
The tremor came as rescuers were still at work in Baqen county, in Nagqu city in the Tibet Autonomous Region, where a magnitude 7.0 quake struck at 10:33 pm on Thursday. It killed 16 people and injured 76, and 12,489 residents were evacuated.
All 76 injured are being treated, and five of the 11 people first listed as seriously hurt have improved, according to Xinhua. The area has recorded 834 aftershocks, eight of them between magnitude 4.0 and 4.9.
More than 2,500 rescue workers are in the area, and 35 temporary resettlement sites have been set up.
