Key points

  1. The new sanctions cover 83 Russian citizens and 79 companies across two lists.
  2. The first list targets suppliers to Iskander, Kalibr, Kh-101 and Kinzhal missile production.
  3. Ukrainian intelligence says Russia now makes about 10,000 drones a month.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has imposed sanctions on 83 Russian citizens and 79 companies that Kyiv says keep Russia’s missile and arms factories supplied, his office said on Saturday, as Moscow steps up its long-range strikes on Ukrainian cities and power plants.

The first of two lists names 51 people and 44 businesses that produce or supply raw materials, equipment and tools for long-range missiles, including the Iskander, Kalibr, Kh-101 and Kinzhal. The second covers 32 people and 35 companies in the supply chains for components used across Russia’s military industry.

Among them is the aluminium producer Rusal, which Kyiv says is involved in making military aircraft, armoured vehicles, missiles and drones. It is accused of importing about 150 million roubles (about $1.8 million) worth of aluminium oxide between April 2024 and March 2025.

“We are systematically identifying and imposing sanctions on enterprises,” said Vladyslav Vlasiuk, the president’s sanctions commissioner. He said the measures “should significantly weaken the Russian military-industrial complex’s ability to produce weapons”.

The move comes as Ukrainian military intelligence says Russia is producing about 10,000 drones a month and stockpiling some 700 ballistic missiles, while Zelenskyy says deliveries of interceptor missiles against Russian ballistic missiles are still delayed.
