Israeli tank fire also hit two occupied homes near the Shuja’iya junction in eastern Gaza City, injuring several residents, and a woman in Jabalia refugee camp was hurt by fire from an Israeli quadcopter, according to local reports. The victims were not named. There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military.
A year of the truce
The ceasefire took effect on 11 October 2025. Since then, Gaza’s health ministry says, at least 1,547 Palestinians have been killed and 5,559 wounded by Israeli fire. The ministry puts the toll since the war began in October 2023 at 74,540 dead and 175,678 wounded.
The war followed the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on 7 October 2023, in which more than 1,200 people were killed.
Saturday’s deaths came as the Israeli army continued its operation in Hebron in the occupied West Bank, days before Israelis vote in a general election on 27 October.
