Key points

  1. Aston Villa v Manchester City kicks off at 5 pm IST, the first of four Premier League games.
  2. Chelsea host Tottenham at 10 pm IST, a week after Spurs' first league win of the season.
  3. Napoli v Roma (9:30 pm) and Dortmund v Frankfurt (10 pm) head the action in Italy and Germany.

Manchester City take their perfect Premier League start to Villa Park on Saturday, the first of four league games on a full day of European football.

City have won all seven of their league matches, their best start to a Premier League season, and Arsenal kept pace with a 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest last weekend. Aston Villa come into the 5 pm IST kick-off on the back of a 1-0 win at Newcastle United, where Johan Manzambi headed the winner.

Arsenal host Everton at 7:30 pm IST, knowing a slip by City in Birmingham would give them the chance to close the gap. Everton lost their unbeaten record last weekend, beaten 2-0 at home by Chelsea. Coventry City play Fulham at the same time.

London derby

The late game is a London derby. Chelsea, fourth after Pedro Neto’s double at Everton, host Tottenham at 10 pm IST. Spurs finally won a league match on Monday, beating Coventry 3-1 with James Maddison scoring on his first start after a long injury, a result that lifted them to 16th on six points.

On Friday night, Ipswich Town drew 1-1 with Nottingham Forest at Portman Road, a point that lifted the promoted side to 10.

Elsewhere in Europe

In Italy, Napoli host Roma at 9:30 pm IST. Germany’s big game is Borussia Dortmund against Eintracht Frankfurt at 10 pm, after a five-match Bundesliga afternoon that includes RB Leipzig against Elversberg and Koln against Schalke at 7 pm.

In Spain, Valencia play Villarreal at 10 pm, and Atletico Madrid host Deportivo La Coruna at 12:30 am IST on Sunday.
