Bills in Parliament: where 35 key Bills stand

From the FCRA amendment in committee to Keralam on the statute book, every major Bill of the 18th Lok Sabha we follow, stage by stage.

From the editorial deskPublished

Parliament passed 11 Bills in the Monsoon Session of 2026, most of them in minutes, while several of the biggest proposals of the 18th Lok Sabha sit with joint committees. This tracker follows 35 Bills from introduction to the statute book.

It covers Bills introduced between December 2024 and August 2026: the 32 in our research base, plus the Union Territories Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2026 and the two One Nation One Election Bills. They include the FCRA amendment and the Bill on removing ministers held in custody, both with joint committees; the Constitution amendment on delimitation, defeated in April; and laws passed this year, from the mines amendment to the renaming of Kerala as Keralam.

As of 11 October 2026, eight Bills are with committees, two have committee reports awaiting a vote, three have failed or been dropped, and 22 have passed both Houses. The Winter Session’s dates have not been announced.

How to read it

Each Bill shows the ministry, the House where it was introduced and the date. The stages run in order: introduced, committee (with its name, chair, date of referral and date of report), passed by the Lok Sabha, passed by the Rajya Sabha, and Presidential assent.

A blank assent date means we have not confirmed it, not that assent was refused. Dropped Bills are marked “infructuous”, the term PRS uses. A Bill marked “negatived” was defeated in a vote. Every row links to its PRS bill page, and to any other source used.

Source note

Stage dates are from PRS Legislative Research bill pages, accessed on 11 October 2026. PRS pages carry no publication date. Other sources are named in each row: LiveLaw for the delimitation vote, The News Minute and Onmanorama for Keralam, and News On AIR, ThePrint and the Sunday Guardian for committee deadlines. We update this page when a Bill moves.
